Tongren: Strive to break the traffic bottleneck and pave the way for development

On June 16, Tongren West (Interchange) Toll Station of Hangzhou Ruili Expressway was officially opened. So far, the four toll booths in the southeast, northwest and northwest of Tongren have all "arrived", which will effectively shorten the distance between Hangzhou Ruili Expressway and the main urban area of Tongren City, relieve the pressure of entering and exiting the main urban area, and help to promote the development strategy of the main urban area.

Tongren, located at the junction of Guizhou, Hunan and Chongqing, is the gateway and bridgehead for Guizhou to open to the east. However, in the past, due to rugged terrain and inconvenient transportation, local development was limited. A doggerel tells us that Qiandong's children have a hard time traveling: "The mountains are high and the cliffs are accompanied by torrents. Pedestrians climb the stone walls and stumble when walking."

Faced with the realistic dilemma, Tongren shouted the heroic words of "Never let mountains block the pace of progress". Over the past decade, Tongren Municipal Party Committee and Tongren Municipal People's Government have led more than 4 million Qiandong people to work hard to break the traffic bottleneck and pave the way for development with the determination to open up new roads in the mountains and meet water.

Since the land withdrawal to build Tongren City, Tongren City has seized the historical opportunity, made full use of the national preferential policies, strived for more project funds, accelerated the infrastructure construction focusing on transportation, and built a transportation pattern with internal connections and external connections.

On June 18, 2015, the G3002 high-speed railway from north Guiyang to south Changsha slowly entered Tongren South Station, and Tongren entered the "high-speed railway era" from then on; On December 30, 2015, the expressway along Germany was officially opened to traffic, and Tongren County was fully connected to expressway; On March 3, 2016, Civil Aviation Administration of China approved the site of Dejiang (Qianbei) Civil Airport, marking that Tongren's "one city, two airports" is just around the corner

During the "13th Five Year Plan" period, Tongren transportation completed a total investment of more than 120 billion yuan in fixed assets, built 741 kilometers of expressways and 12100 kilometers of "group to group" highways, in addition, Tongren Yuxi Railway and the second line of Chongqing Huaihua Railway were completed and opened to traffic, and Wujiang waterway was open to navigation.

Today, the three-dimensional transportation network integrating highway, railway, aviation and water transport makes Tongren a hub in eastern Guizhou, narrowing the space and time distance between the local area and the outside world, opening up Tongren to the outside world, and building a new platform for opening up and exchange.
