In order to further standardize the behavior of dog raising in cities across the province and maintain social public security, the Agricultural and Rural Department of Guizhou Province recently released the List of Fierce Dogs in Guizhou Province and the Standard for Large Dogs (Revised Edition). The relevant policies are interpreted as follows.

1、 What is the revision basis and background

According to the requirements of the Regulations on the Management of Urban Dog Raising in Guizhou Province, in 2019, Guizhou Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs The List of Fierce Dogs and the Standard for Shoulder Height and Weight of Large Dogs in Guizhou Province (Announcement [2019] No. 9 of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guizhou Province) (hereinafter referred to as the List) was formulated according to the procedure and released publicly on July 30. According to the suggestion of experts to regularly update the List when it was formulated, in order to further standardize the behavior of urban dog breeding, in November 2023, Guizhou Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs The revision of the list of dogs with high severity was officially launched.

2、 What is the difference between the revised version and the original version

List of fierce dogs: Compared with the 30 kinds published in Announcement 9 of 2019, the revised list of fierce dogs retains 27 kinds, deletes 3 kinds, adds 4 kinds, and modifies 3 kinds. A total of 31 kinds of fierce dogs are defined. Specifically: everything Remove the Bernese mountain dog, bulldog and British bulldog from the list of dogs with mild and stable personality that are not included in the list of dogs with strong personalities in most provinces (cities); Second The newly added fierce and aggressive loose lion dogs, Akita dogs, Czech wolfhounds and Baxianji dogs are fierce dogs; Third The names of some dogs were modified normatively. The Doberman is changed into a Doberman (except for the mini Doberman), the equine is changed into a equine (Marinua, Belgian Malinos), and the Russian Shepherd Dog is changed into a Russian Shepherd Dog (Russian Wolfhound).

Large dog standard: considering the large difference in weight of the same breed caused by the difference in dog breeding, it is not suitable to be used as the evaluation standard for large dogs. The revised version deleted the weight standard for large dogs in the original directory.

3、 What is the revised list of strong dogs and the standard for large dogs

List of fierce dogs (31 species) British Mastiff, Italian Castro, French Bordeaux, Russian Caucasian, Weimar, Cheddar, Newfoundland, Great Dane, German Shepherd, Doberman (except for the mini Doberman), Italian Newpolitan, Stanford Bull Terrier (Stamford Bullfight), Chow Lion, Akita, Czech Wolf Dog Bassengi and hybrid dogs with the above pedigree.

Standard for large dogs: shoulder height 60 cm and above.

4、 What is the scope of application

Large dogs shall be kept in captivity or tied up in fixed places.
