On the occasion of the March 8th Women's Day, four women workers in different positions from Kaili Public Works Section went to the "March 8th" tunnel of Shanghai Kunming Railway to carry out an activity with the theme of "immersive experience and show heroism".

"Today's activity is mainly about immersive experience, simulated the joint inspection of the 'March 8th' tunnel and the Nanshan River steel girder bridge, and felt the spirit of women's militia to overcome difficulties through the inspection." said Wang Xia, secretary of the party branch of the flaw detection workshop led by the team. Four female employees put on their work clothes and yellow vests, prepared tools and materials for inspection, set up trinity protection, and carefully carried out inspection according to the operation standards.

Wang Xia and Lu Linyu, a young worker, took an inspection hammer, a record book, a tape measure, etc., and checked the Nanshan River steel girder bridge first. They carefully checked the bridge connection equipment, the fasteners of the line, the laying of ballast, and the quality of rails one by one. On the other side of the bridge, Gao Jieyun and Lin Ling from the Party Committee Office were inspecting the fire sandbox and fire bucket on the steel girder bridge. The wooden sleepers on the steel frame bridge are coated with coal tar, the sparks from rail grinding or the high temperature in summer may cause a fire, and the fire fighting facilities are critical. Then the channel railings were checked. Gao Jieyun checked the corrosion and firmness of the railings, and Lin Ling measured the height of the railings with a tape measure.

After the bridge inspection, everyone came to the "March 8th" tunnel and prepared to inspect the front slope of the tunnel entrance. It is necessary to climb an inspection ladder with an angle of close to 50 degrees on the top of the tunnel, which is close to 15 meters. "It's so difficult to build the railway, and this steep ladder can't be climbed?" Lin Ling took the lead to climb up. She leaned forward slightly, put her hands on the front step, and stepped up step by step. As she kept moving forward, her body became more and more flexible, and soon reached the top of the tunnel. Others followed and reached the top of the tunnel, checked the drainage of the intercepting ditch and circular gutter for about 20 minutes, and then returned to the ground.

"The inspection work carried out today has a strong sense of integration into the experience. We not only learned about the history of railway construction, but also felt the indomitable spirit of the 38th Women's Militia Company, encouraging us to base ourselves on our posts, do our own work, and ensure railway safety."
