It is understood that the lantern show "Seven Sisters and the Snake Boy" is based on folk stories. It is said that a long time ago, in the beautiful and rich place of Mangshan in Guizhou, the seventh younger sister of the Zhang family was caught by the snake spirit of Mangshan to cultivate internal medicine in the cave, and was saved and loved by the young snake catcher of Mangshan. The snake man gave the internal medicine, Baozhu, which was stolen from the snake spirit, to the seventh younger sister as a token of love, but was later robbed by the eldest sister of the Zhang family. When the bee weng learned about this, he took the treasure back with a plan and returned it to the seventh sister.

Seven younger sister and Snake Lang are happily married. The eldest sister of the Zhang family is jealous and seduced by the money of the snake spirit. She deliberately borrows the snake man to go out to govern the snake spirit. She wants to cheat the treasure, but she doesn't want the snake man to take the treasure out. The eldest sister disregarded her sister's feelings and killed the seventh sister in order to occupy Shelang and Baozhu

Finally, under the close questioning of the bee man, sisters and villagers, the frightened and guilty elder sister finally told the truth. The bee weng saved the seventh sister with the power of the snake essence's inner elixir. The seventh sister and the snake lang finally reunited, and their lovers got married.

"The lantern began in the Tang Dynasty, and the opera began in the Song Dynasty." According to the relevant person in charge, as a local traditional opera, Guizhou Lantern Opera has been widely spread throughout Guizhou, with a history of more than 300 years. It is a national intangible cultural heritage and a treasure of Guizhou folk art. From the countryside to the city, lantern singing and dancing, lantern singing, and lantern opera have forged deep ties with the people of Guizhou.

The flower lantern play "Seven Sisters and the Serpentine" is one of the representative plays of the traditional Guizhou flower lantern play, and is also one of the representative works of Luo Jiangyu, the founder of Luo School's Dan art. In addition, this play is a rare one with martial arts scenes in lantern shows. At the beginning of the play, the scene of a group of demons fighting with the snake man and the bee man is simple but interesting.
