In order to improve the driving experience of expressways in Guizhou Province and reject the "cliff style" speed limit, Guizhou will complete the optimization and adjustment of the first batch of speed limits for more than 1000 kilometers of expressways before May 1.
On April 29, the reporter followed the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transport, the Traffic Management Bureau of the Provincial Public Security Department and other relevant departments to K224 km of S36 Yupan Expressway (Guiyang Huangping Section), only to see the original speed limit signs marked "100" and "60" removed and replaced with new ones. S36 Yupan Expressway is 120.6 km long, with six lanes in two directions. The original design speed is 100 km/h/60 km/h. It takes more than one hour and 20 minutes to travel from Guiyang to Huangping. The adjusted speed is 120 km/h for passenger cars and 100 km/h for other vehicles. After optimization and adjustment, the travel time from Guiyang to Huangping has been increased by at least 15 minutes.
Du Rui, deputy general manager of Guizhou Guihuang Expressway Co., Ltd., said that at present, the infrastructure such as markings, delineators and signboards that need to be replaced in this section has been completed, and the replacement work is nearing the end. The remaining work will be completed before the May Day holiday. At the same time, the voice broadcast of navigation software such as Gaode and Baidu Maps will also be updated synchronously.
Guizhou Guizhou Expressway is also a section where speed optimization needs to be completed before the May Day holiday.
Later, the reporter followed the relevant personnel to K37+900 km from west Guizhou to Guiyang on the Guiyang Guizhou Expressway (Guiyang west section), and saw a crane holding the construction personnel to replace the speed limit sign on the gantry. An Jiawen, the head of the Road Production Maintenance Office of Guizhou CCCC Guizhou Expressway Development Co., Ltd., told reporters that the speed limit for trucks on the whole line of this section was changed from 90 km/h to 100 km/h. After the optimization of speed limit, the traffic time of the main line from Guiyang to Qianxi will be shortened by 5 to 10 minutes. At present, 90% of the road speed limit prompt facilities in this section have been replaced, and the remaining work will be completed before the May Day holiday.
This adjustment is mainly to take the lead in optimizing and adjusting the 12 sections (1066.3 km in total) closely related to the scenic spot and with large traffic flow in the province. It is expected that the remaining 7700 km will be optimized and adjusted by the end of July.
It is understood that the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transport and the Party Committee of Guizhou Provincial Department of Public Security attach great importance to the "cliff type" speed limit and non-standard speed measurement standards of expressways, which are widely concerned by the masses. In combination with the actual special research of our province, they propose to optimize the speed control of our province's expressways and simultaneously standardize the speed measurement standards. At the beginning of March this year, on the basis of field research, the Technical Guide for Guizhou Expressway Speed Control was prepared, and on March 28, the Notice on Carrying out the Work Related to the Optimization and Adjustment of Expressway Speed Limits in the Province was issued. The Notice specifies that the main speed limits of expressways are 80, 100, 110, and 120 km/h. Tunnels with a length of 1 km or less are at the same speed as adjacent sections. Tunnels with a length of more than 1 km are in principle subject to the design speed and not less than 80 km/h.
