Colorful ethnic customs breed diversified intangible cultural heritage projects. Each intangible cultural heritage project shows the diversity of this land, which is the portrayal of the Mongolian people's life in Subei, and the imprint of one side of the water and soil nurturing another side of the people.



From folk literature to traditional music, from traditional skills to traditional Mongolian medicine, Subei County has 99 intangible cultural heritage, including 2 national intangible cultural heritage projects and 7 provincial intangible cultural heritage projects. Subei Mongolian costumes are national intangible cultural heritage. As the national intangible cultural inheritor of Subei Mongolian costumes, Narenqiqige has studied Mongolian embroidery with her grandmother since she was eight years old. Now she has studied and produced Subei Mongolian costumes for 57 years.


Narenqiqige told reporters that Subei Mongolian costumes, also known as snow mountain Mongolian costumes, have their own characteristics and aesthetics. As people's daily wear, clothes can best reflect national customs and culture. The Mongolian clothes they tailor are mainly hand sewn, integrating the Mongolian culture in the snow mountain into the details of the clothes. For example, women's clothing decoration rainbow is to make life more colorful, and some sheep intestines like pattern embroidery is also an expression of grassland people's expectation of animal husbandry prosperity.



In the clothing of Subei Mongols, there is a kind of Shagra needle winding technique that is unique to Subei Mongols. Narenqiqige said that the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage is to preserve national things. They open non genetic lessons and teach Shagra the needle winding skill hand in hand, hoping that more embroiderers will join in the inheritance and protection of Subei Mongolian costumes in the future.
