In 2007, Wu Xinren, a 28 year old Miao youth, ended his ten year working life in the city and returned to his hometown, Wuying Miao Village, with his 22 year old lover He Yuqing, to start his own business.
Wuying Miao Village is located deep in the mountains at the junction of Guangxi and Guizhou. There are 145 households with more than 700 people in total, of which 104 belong to Dangjiu Village, Gandong Township, Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, Guangxi, and 41 belong to Nancen Village, Cuili Yao and Zhuang Township, Congjiang County, Guizhou Province.Due to the lack of land resources, inconvenient transportation and other reasons, Wuying Miao Village once lagged behind.
After returning to their hometown, Wu Xinren and He Yuqing bought cars to attract customers and transport goods, ran small shops, farmed and raised fish, and ran homestays to sell specialties, gradually becoming the leaders of Miao Village in becoming rich. For 17 years, the two have stuck to the mountain, working at sunrise and resting at sunset.
Wu Xinren said that returning to his hometown to start a business has yielded a lot in recent years, thanks to the help of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission, Women's Federation, Youth League Committee and other departments and institutions in Guangxi and Guizhou in recent years, the Wuying Miao Village has undergone tremendous changes, and the production and living conditions of the masses have been greatly improved.Wuying Miao Village has also built teaching buildings, cultural corridors, wind and rain buildings, Lusheng Square and other facilities with the support of Guangdong Guangxi funds in Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province. The level of local culture and education has been steadily improved by opening night schools for women and setting up education incentive funds.
Now, Wuying Miao Village is making continuous progress on the road of rural revitalization, and Wu Xinren and He Yuqing are also living a more colorful life. They go to night school, sing Miao songs, play Lusheng, make Miao clothes, take videos, receive tourists, go out to perform... The two people have been together all day, witnessing the change of Miao Village and the development of the times.
