"This morning, I listened carefully to the government work report made by the Prime Minister and was very excited. Last year, Clear government work report The state's policy on agricultural production will only increase, and farmers will be encouraged to grow more varieties of grain and better grain. This year, in the government work report, the Premier once again stressed the need to ensure that the Chinese people's jobs are firmly in their own hands, which makes me confident and energetic. " On March 5, Yang Enlan, a deputy to the National People's Congress and head of the Plant Protection Station of Shuicheng District Agricultural and Rural Bureau, Liupanshui City, sighed.

At the time of the National Two Sessions, Yang Enlan is also preparing his own suggestions. "In combination with my own work and research, this year I will continue to focus on food security issues and propose relevant suggestions around the construction of national rodent monitoring networks in agricultural areas." Yang Enlan said frankly that plant protection work is relatively new to most people, mainly focusing on the prevention and control of crop diseases, insects, grass, rodents, plant quarantine, pesticide management and other aspects, To improve the ability to prevent and resist food security risks and ensure food security.

Through investigation, Yang Enlan found that in recent years, the construction of rodent monitoring networks in China's agricultural areas has achieved some results, but the formulation of relevant industry standards still needs to be strengthened.

"At present, there is no special 'Technical Specification for Monitoring and Control of Rattus norvegicus in Agricultural Areas' in China. Its monitoring and control still follow the' Technical Specification for Monitoring of Rattus norvegicus in Agricultural Areas' formulated in 2007 and the 'Technical Specification for Controlling Rattus norvegicus in Agricultural Areas' formulated in 2010. Since the two industry standards have been formulated for a long time, it is difficult to meet the current actual needs for monitoring, prevention and control of rattus norvegicus, so it is very urgent to formulate relevant industry standards in a timely manner. " Yang Enlan also mentioned that in recent years, the problem of frequent turnover of rat monitoring personnel has become increasingly prominent, and it is imperative to build a team of high professional rat pest prevention talents.

In Yang Enlan's view, the key to scientifically promoting Guizhou's modern mountain featured and efficient agriculture is to find the development mode and path, and develop local advantageous industries according to local conditions. At the same time, it is necessary to optimize the intensive processing of characteristic products, strengthen scientific and technological innovation in key agricultural fields, as well as brand building of agricultural products, improve the added value of agricultural products, and enhance market competitiveness.

"For example, our Shuicheng is difficult to develop large-scale standard agriculture because of its high mountains and deep valleys, and broken land. Over the years, we have made Shuicheng Spring Tea, Chuhao Rosa roxburghii, and Red Heart Kiwi into new luxury brands of Guizhou's mountain featured agriculture by promoting advantages and avoiding disadvantages, focusing on climate advantages and resource endowments, and deeply cultivating characteristic industries."

When it comes to the future, Yang Enlan is full of confidence, "I hope the rodent prevention and control personnel will continue to work enthusiastically, do a good job of rodent prevention and control in agricultural areas with high quality, and build a solid foundation for food security. In 2024, I hope that the countryside will be more beautiful and farmers will be richer."
