      Changshun County is the hometown of green shell hens in China. The green shell eggs produced by Changshun County are the only local poultry species in Guizhou that have entered the national level protection of livestock and poultry genetic resources. In 2014, it was certified as a national geographical indication for agricultural products.

The green shell eggs produced are rich in high protein, high amino acid, high lecithin, zinc, selenium, iodine and other high trace elements, while the fat content and cholesterol content are much lower than ordinary eggs. Therefore, Changshun green shell eggs have won the reputation of "ginseng in eggs".

It is understood that at present, Changshun County has built a standardized breeding demonstration base for 1 million adult broilers, 6 township green shell chicken breeding training bases, 67 ecological breeding units with 10000 birds per unit, 3 breeding enterprises with more than 50000 birds on hand, 5 breeding bases with 10000 to 50000 birds on hand, 23 breeding cooperation, 13200 rural sporadic farmers, and 3.111 million ecological poultry in the county, A total of 4.6932 million birds were sold throughout the year, and the output of eggs reached 52500 tons, driving 3850 poor farmers and 13860 people.
