On July 5, the Suitability Index of 2023 Summer Habitat for Migratory Bird based Elderly Care in China was released. Liupanshui and Guiyang, Guizhou, emerged from 76 candidate cities nationwide, and won the first and second place respectively in this summer's migratory bird based elderly care habitat.

One is Liupanshui, the "cool capital of China", the only city in China named after its climate characteristics, and the other is Guiyang, the summer capital of China with an average temperature of 23 ℃ in summer. The two are just the best among the "top students" in Guizhou.

What does Guizhou rely on in a 24 ℃ summer?

More than 500 years ago, Wang Yangming, who was a Taoist in Guizhou, praised that Guizhou "has green plantain leaves in front of the eaves, and there is no heat invasion in the long summer", which explained the subtle relationship between the ecology of Guizhou and the cool climate.

Guizhou is one of the coolest areas in the same latitude in summer, which is a typical cool summer area. Due to the combined influence of the quasi quiet front in Yunnan and Guizhou, the warm and humid air flow in the Bay of Bengal and the terrain, the main characteristics of most of Guizhou in summer are suitable temperature, cool and comfortable, abundant rainfall, frequent night rain, moderate sunshine and cool breeze.

The good climate breeds a mysterious ecological environment. In 2022, the forest coverage rate of Guizhou Province will reach 62.81%, the proportion of excellent water quality in 119 national assessment sections of surface water in the province will reach 98.3%, and the average ratio of excellent days of ambient air quality in nine central cities in the province will reach 99.0%. Under the regulation of green mountains and water, Guizhou is often cool in summer.

The 5000 mu lotus blooms in the ten mile lotus pond at Zhaodi, Anlong County. The green lotus leaves are swaying in the wind. The white lotus looks like jade and pink like clouds. There is not only a grand scene of lotus flowers stretching for ten miles, but also a paradise for migratory birds because of the ecological effect that is constantly demonstrated. In addition, the annual average temperature of 15.6 ℃ in Anlong makes Zhaodi an ideal place for tourists to "spend the summer" without cold winter and hot summer.
