Influenced by the continuous high temperature and little rain since this spring, aphids have multiplied in large numbers, causing the commercial rape and seed rape planted in the streets and towns under the jurisdiction of Changshun County, Qiannan Prefecture to suffer from diseases and pests to varying degrees.

It is known that aphids mostly breed in the heart leaves and back of the leaves of rape to sting and suck juice. The affected leaves turn yellow and curl, and the growth is poor. In serious cases, the plant is short, and even the whole plant dies. Aphids often transmit viruses when they are harmed, thus causing greater harm. Rapeseed is severely damaged by aphids at seedling stage, and also at the stage of bolting and flowering pods in spring, resulting in flower falling, bud falling, small pods, thin and shriveled rapeseed, or even no harvest.

In order to safeguard the vital interests of farmers, ensure farmers' enthusiasm for farming, and give full play to the functional role of agricultural insurance. In recent days, PICC Property&Casualty Insurance Changshun Branch has organized several groups of surveyors to carry out field surveys in seven townships under its jurisdiction. The surveyors went deep into the field to check and record the disaster situation of rape in detail, providing material support for rape claims, and improving the efficiency of rape insurance claims; At the same time, it calmed the affected farmers, patiently popularized the rape insurance claim process and the list of materials needed to farmers, and accurately verified the scope of damaged rape with the local village committee and farmers to ensure the authenticity, effectiveness and reliability of the information, so that no one household is missed, no one field is missed, and all claims should be made, so as to ensure that farmers retain the claims, and no income is reduced.

As a national rape seed production county, Changshun County has a history of planting rape for many years. With the help of the technical strength of Guizhou Petroleum Research Institute, Changshun County has also successfully selected oil research institutes 2020 and other high oil, high yield and high resistance rape varieties. In 2020, Changshun County successfully declared the only national regional rapeseed breeding base in Guizhou Province. In 2024, there will be 124900 mu of insured rape in Changshun County, including more than 10000 mu of seed rape. At present, the related claim settlement work is proceeding in an orderly manner, making every effort to ensure that the agricultural policy insurance work is implemented, protect the interests of farmers, and protect the "chip" of rape seeds.
