On March 8, at the site of the "commemoration of the International Women's Day of Labor and the Party Day of Voluntary Tree Planting" held by the Lhasa Forestry and Grass Bureau, everyone was busy planting trees while feeling that the greenery of Lhasa grew stronger year by year.

Digging pits, supporting seedlings, cultivating soil, watering... At the site of Nanshan Park Afforestation Area of Lhasa's North South Mountain Afforestation Project, the participants worked together to plant more than 100 seedlings, such as acacia and apricot, to the predetermined location, and also planted new hope.

In addition to planting trees on the day of the event, the sponsor also actively publicized the significance, main experience and practices, and major achievements of the greening of the North and South Mountains to the on-site construction personnel and the masses, promoted the WeChat small program of "I have a tree in Tibet", and called on more people to participate in the greening of the North and South Mountains, to jointly add color to the greening of the North and South Mountains in Lhasa.

The greening project of the north and south mountains of Lhasa is the first representative project of large-scale ecological construction and restoration in the valley area of our district. While improving the ecological environment of Lhasa, it will also drive farmers and herdsmen to increase their income through afforestation, and constantly enhance the people's sense of gain and happiness. In recent years, many local people have been active in the front line of planting trees at their homes, protecting the new green on the hillside with the strength of protecting their own crops.

It is understood that in recent years, Lhasa has effectively promoted the employment and income increase of farmers and herdsmen by organizing farmers and herdsmen to participate in afforestation, leasing local machinery to participate in project construction, and attracting people to participate in later management and protection. In 2023, the afforestation projects along the traffic routes around Lhasa were consolidated and upgraded, with 17000 mu of consolidation and upgrading area completed and more than 1.23 million seedlings planted; In some areas with poor site conditions, relatively complex terrain and inconvenient transportation, we implemented manual on-demand seeding, completed 82000 mu of on-demand seeding area, and continued to consolidate and improve the greening achievements of North and South Mountains.
