"Pakistan and China will uphold common values, work together for common development, and promote common prosperity and progress!" Pakistani Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters at the Prime Minister's Office in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. This is the first time that Shabaz has received an exclusive interview with foreign media since he was re elected Prime Minister of Pakistan.

On March 3, President Xi Jinping sent a message to Shabaz Sharif congratulating him on his election as Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Shabaz thanked President Xi Jinping for his continuous support to Pakistan. "I cherish President Xi Jinping's feelings for friendship and cooperation between the two peoples. This is a very good beginning for my new term of office," Shabaz said.

2024 is the 73rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. Shabaz said that over the past 70 years, the leaders of the two countries have continuously cultivated and promoted Pakistan China friendship. The two countries have developed into all-weather strategic cooperative partners, and have a unique friendship like "iron brothers", pushing Pakistan China friendship to a new height. Shabaz looks forward to visiting China again.

Shabaz spoke highly of Chinese modernization, and said Pakistan should learn from the Chinese modernization development model, encourage small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to actively start businesses in industry, agriculture, information technology and other fields, provide full employment for young people, and ultimately reduce poverty.

"Chinese style modernization is a very successful model." In Shabaz's view, China has created an unprecedented development miracle, including lifting hundreds of millions of people out of poverty, enabling the vast rural population to enjoy education, health, medical facilities and employment services, and creating enterprises and economic growth centers with international competitiveness.

Pakistan was one of the first members to join the Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative. Shabaz believes that in today's world, promoting reconciliation and dialogue is the key to deal with division. Pakistan firmly supports the three major global initiatives proposed by China, and firmly believes that these initiatives will further help countries to establish closer positive interactions.

Shabaz said that the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" will not only help alleviate poverty and hunger in all countries, but also promote investment and promote education and health development. He is visionary. "There is no better model of global social co construction".

"We thank China for its great help in promoting Pakistan's economic development," Shabaz said. "The joint construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor has played a very critical role."

Shabaz said that China's high-quality development is constantly advancing, and Pakistan should also promote the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project to develop in the direction of modernization and science and technology. Pakistan has established a special investment promotion committee mechanism matching the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, and plans to establish industrial parks and export zones, looking forward to strengthening cooperation with Chinese enterprises.
