Six members from three sectors had face-to-face exchanges with the General Secretary

On March 6, just after the wake of insects, Beijing was bright and clean in spring after a rain and snow.

At the joint group meeting, six members exchanged views with the General Secretary, including two members from the civil reform, scientific and technological circles, and environmental and resource circles. The topics of exchange involve many aspects.

The first speakers were two members from the democratic revolution sector.

Xia Xianpeng is the chairman of Fujian Provincial Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the People's Republic of China. He focused on strengthening cross-strait industrial chain supply chain cooperation.

In September 2023, the Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on Supporting Fujian to Explore a New Road for Cross Strait Integrated Development and Build a Cross Strait Integrated Development Demonstration Zone was issued. It clearly pointed out that it is necessary to "improve the resilience and security level of the cross-strait industrial chain supply chain".

The two members who spoke subsequently came from the scientific and technological community.

In February this year, the release of the artificial intelligence student video model received widespread attention, which also triggered the concern of the international community about network and data security.

Wu Jianping is the director of Zhongguancun National Laboratory and the president of the Institute of Network Science and Cyberspace of Tsinghua University. He focused on how to use Internet core technology to support the construction of a network power and high-quality development, and put forward specific suggestions.

Zhao Yuliang, a member of the National Nanoscience Center, is a researcher. The theme of his speech is to promote the industrialization of scientific and technological innovation achievements. Zhao Yuliang put forward two specific suggestions on how to effectively transform China's scientific and technological innovation capability into new quality productivity.

At the joint group meeting on the same day, there were two speakers from the newly established sectors.

The 14th CPPCC National Committee added the environmental and resource sector. This is another important adjustment since the CPPCC National Committee added the economic sector in 1993. There are 85 members in the environment and resources sector, covering ecological environment, natural resources, marine, forestry, geology and other fields.

Huang Mianshong, a member of the committee, is from an ecological and environmental protection enterprise. Last year, he submitted a proposal on the treatment of rural domestic sewage and garbage, which received the attention of relevant departments. In this speech, he focused on reflecting the practical problems and relevant suggestions he encountered in front line work.

The last member who spoke was Hu Songqin, Deputy Director of the Marine Ecological Environment Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

With the in-depth promotion of the construction of a beautiful China, China's ecological environment protection has gradually developed from the control of sensory indicators such as "haze" and "black odor" to the control of new pollutants with long-term and hidden hazards. Message from the National Revolution: Jointly promote the process of peaceful reunification of the motherland

General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech after carefully listening to the speeches of the six members. He fully affirmed the work of the CPPCC members over the past year and expressed sincere greetings.

The joint group meeting was attended by members from the three sectors of the civil reform, science and technology, and environmental and resource sectors. The speech of the General Secretary has strong pertinence and guidance.

Let's start with the National Revolution. The full name of the National Revolution is the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. As a close friend of the Communist Party of China, the Democratic Revolution has done a lot of work to promote the development of cross-strait relations for a long time.

In 2015, during the two sessions of the National People's Congress, the General Secretary visited the members of the National People's Revolutionary Committee, the Taiwan League and the Taiwan Federation who participated in the CPPCC session, and participated in the joint group meeting. Solving the Taiwan question and achieving the complete reunification of the motherland are the historical tasks of the Party, the common aspiration of all Chinese people, and the inevitable requirements for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The General Secretary stressed in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that "we should adhere to the overall strategy of the Party to solve the Taiwan issue in the new era, firmly grasp the leading power and initiative of cross-strait relations, and unswervingly promote the great cause of national reunification."

In the 2024 New Year's message, the General Secretary said, "The reunification of the motherland is a historical necessity, and compatriots on both sides of the Straits should work together to share the great glory of national rejuvenation."

At this joint group meeting, the General Secretary sent a message to the National Revolutionary Movement: we should further identify the position, give play to our advantages and take an active role in the overall situation of Taiwan work, better unite all patriotic forces that can be united at home and abroad, inside and outside the island, constantly strengthen the anti "independence" forces to promote reunification, and jointly promote the process of peaceful reunification of the motherland. Message to the scientific and technological community: take on the important task of scientific and technological innovation

Let's talk about technology.

In March 2013, at the first National Two Sessions held after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping attended the joint group meeting of members of the Association for Science and Technology and the scientific and technological community. He came straight to the point: "In the first five years of working in the Party Central Committee, I went to the Hong Kong and Macao Group every year. After becoming the General Secretary, I was the first to come to the Science and Technology Group."

For 12 consecutive years, we had face-to-face exchanges with the representative members during the two sessions. The General Secretary has repeatedly talked about scientific and technological innovation as the first driving force for development.

When participating in the deliberation of the Jiangsu delegation last year, the General Secretary said that the key to whether we can complete the building of a modern socialist power on schedule is to rely on science and technology for self-reliance.

Message to the environmental and resource community: support high-quality development with high-level protection

Finally, the environment and resources sector.

Environmental resources is the latest sector set up by the CPPCC National Committee, and also an area that General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to. Chinese style modernization is a kind of modernization in which man and nature coexist harmoniously. Ecological problems test historical vision and strategic thinking.

In May 2018, the National Ecological Environment Protection Conference formally put forward Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought. Last July, five years later, the General Secretary again attended the National Conference on Ecological Environment Protection and delivered an important speech.

On the occasion of the National Two Sessions, the General Secretary has repeatedly focused on ecological issues. In 2019, he stressed in the Inner Mongolia delegation that we should maintain the strategic focus on strengthening the construction of ecological civilization. In 2021, he pointed out in the Qinghai delegation that we should promote ecological priority, promote high-quality development, and create high-quality life in an organic combination to complement each other.
