Since the launch of the "Cloud Sword" campaign, 118000 telecom network fraud cases have been uncovered nationwide, up 62.7% year on year. 99000 suspects were arrested, up 135.6% year on year. A total of 47.43 billion yuan of frozen funds involved in the case were stopped, 1.83 million early warning fraud numbers were issued, and 1.223 million victims were dissuaded.

Guo Lin, spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security, said that in recent years, the new type of network crime represented by telecommunications network fraud has developed and spread rapidly. Criminals use communication tools and modern online banking technology to carry out fraud activities, which has caused serious economic losses to victims, and the people have responded strongly. The Central Committee of the Party and the State Council attach great importance to it. Many departments act together and take multiple measures to crack down on it. The Ministry of Public Security has set up a leading group for the "Cloud Sword" action, and the public security organs around the country have gone all out to overcome difficulties according to the unified deployment of the Ministry of Public Security. At present, the "Cloud Sword" action has achieved remarkable results.

Liu Zhongyi, Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, reported that the Ministry of Public Security organized 13 provincial public security organs to carry out police law enforcement cooperation in Cambodia, the Philippines, Laos and other countries for many times, destroyed a large number of fraud dens, and escorted 2553 suspects of telecommunications network fraud back to China 14 times, which greatly shocked overseas telecommunications network fraud criminal groups. 58000 criminal cases of routine loan were solved, 4205 gangs were eliminated, 41000 criminal suspects were arrested, and 57.7 billion yuan was seized. According to monitoring, the network platform of routine loan decreased by 77%. A total of 576 fraud gangs related to the unfreezing of national assets were killed, and 8982 suspects were arrested. The pursuit of fugitives has achieved the best results in the past eight years, with 243000 fugitives captured, including 96 fugitives wanted by the Ministry of Public Security. From January to November this year, the number of criminal cases registered nationwide dropped by 3.9%, and the number of serious violent crimes dropped by 10.4%.

The reporter learned from the press conference that in the next step, the Ministry of Public Security will continue to carry out the "cloud sword" action, crack down on telecommunications network fraud, routine loans, and national assets unfreeze fraud crimes, make every effort to arrest fugitives, resolutely curb the rising trend of new network crimes, eliminate social security problems, and create a good social security environment for the people to celebrate the New Year's Day and the Spring Festival.
